Resistance Types
What are the different types of resistance used by Biocircuit?

Isotonic refers to weight or resistance that is the same when a muscle is contracting (concentric contraction) and lengthening (eccentric contraction).
This resistance type is most like using traditional free weights such as free weights, cables, bars and pin loaded machines.

Traditional Strength

No inertia reduces tension on your joints at the beginning and end range of motion. This is great for those with osteoporosis or any joint injuries.

Elastic resistance creates tension at the end range, like that of working with bands in training. This type of resistence is good for rehab, increasing mobility of muscles as well as for reducing stress/anxiety.

Viscous - the faster you push, the more resistance you get back. At lower levels the speed is faster like water (great for explosive training and athletes). Higher resistance is like mud (great for older people wanting to keep a spring in their step).

Eccentric reduction reduces the load during the eccentric phase, which allows a person new to exercise or someone that has taken a break from strength training, to recover quicker and with reduced muscle soreness.

Back to Movement: Levels 1-4

Eccentric Overload helps to build muscle and increase muscular tone faster than traditional strength training. This is great for someone that has been training for over 3 months or is okay with some post-exercise muscle soreness when beginning a new program.
