Meet the team
Founder of The Well
Jen Rice
Jen is the founder of The Well Whole Body Studios, a boutique gym and wellness space established in 2021. With a passion for movement science, her and her team design workouts that fuse strength training, core conditioning, cardio, myofascial release, and mobility—all tailored to help the body move as nature intended.
A certified Personal Trainer since 2002, Jen specializes in biomechanics and corrective exercise, with a current focus on supporting peri/post-menopausal women. Jen has recently completed Stacey Sims certification, Menopause 2.0 course. Drawing from her own journey, she combines evidence-based training with intuitive movement strategies to help women thrive during this transformative life stage.
Rooted in Vancouver, British Columbia, her approach bridges science and soul—where every session educates, challenges, and reconnects clients to their body’s innate wisdom.
When Jen isn’t at The Well, you’ll find her outdoors—running trails, swimming in open water, hiking hills, or gardening. A former triathlete (who raced everything from sprints to long-course in her 20s), she now channels that same discipline into helping others build sustainable, joyful strength—no matter their age or phase of life.

Hanisi Filipe
If you've ever wondered who's behind the friendly emails from The Well, that's likely Hanisi – though you're more likely to catch her training late at night than during studio hours. A true night owl, Hanisi finds her rhythm after dark, especially when it comes to strength training, her favourite way to move.
A proud moment in Hanisi’s own fitness journey was stepping onto the mats for jiu jitsu competitions – despite nerves so strong they sometimes came with a stomach flip! That same courage and commitment now shows up in her quiet dedication behind the scenes, helping things run smoothly at The Well.
