Last February 2024, I visited Auckland and had the chance to try out the Biocircuit machines at Technogym NZ’s head office. As a personal trainer with over 23 years of experience, I was absolutely blown away. The versatility, ease of use, and innovative resistance types left me with a clear “aha!” moment. While AI-driven fitness technology once seemed intimidating, the Biocircuit changed my perspective entirely. I realized this was the future of training—a way to help gym members achieve their goals faster and stay consistent like never before.
In this blog, I’ll break down the incredible resistance types the Biocircuit offers. In our next post, we’ll dive deeper into how each type can help you reach your specific fitness goals!
Revolutionary Resistance Types
The Biocircuit’s BIOSTRENGTH™ technology goes beyond traditional isotonic resistance, offering six unique resistance types to cater to different training objectives. Each type creates distinct muscle activation patterns, ensuring a more effective and personalized workout experience. Here’s a quick overview:
Isotonic Resistance: The classic form of resistance training, where the load remains constant throughout the movement. Perfect for building foundational strength.
Eccentric Overload: Increases resistance during the lowering (eccentric) phase of an exercise. This maximizes muscle damage and hypertrophy, making it ideal for strength and muscle growth.
Eccentric Reduction: Reduces resistance during the eccentric phase, which can be beneficial for recovery or rehabilitation.
No Inertia: Eliminates momentum, forcing your muscles to work harder throughout the entire range of motion. This ensures controlled, intentional movements for better results.
Viscous Resistance: Adjusts resistance based on the speed of movement, simulating real-world conditions like swimming or running. Great for improving power and explosiveness.
Elastic Resistance: Mimics the tension of elastic bands, increasing resistance as you move through the exercise. This is excellent for functional training and building muscle endurance.
Why This Matters
The Biocircuit isn’t just another piece of gym equipment—it’s a smarter way to train. Here’s why:
Personalized Training: With six resistance types, you can tailor your workouts to match your specific goals, whether it’s strength, hypertrophy, rehabilitation, or endurance.
Neuromuscular Adaptation: By challenging your muscles in new ways, the Biocircuit promotes better neuromuscular responses, helping you progress faster.
Rehabilitation and Injury Prevention: Features like eccentric overload and reduction make it a powerful tool for recovery and injury prevention.
Engagement and Consistency: The variety and ease of use keep workouts fresh and exciting, helping you stay motivated and consistent.
